Morgon
Morgon
The Morgon appellation is one of the ten prestigious crus of the Beaujolais region, located around the village of Villié-Morgon. It is known for producing powerful and full-bodied red wines made from the Gamay grape. The soils, rich in schist and decomposed rock known as “roches pourries” (rotten rocks), give the wines their unique character and aging potential. Morgon wines are distinguished by aromas of ripe fruit, cherry, and plum, which develop over time into more complex notes reminiscent of Pinot Noir. It is a true terroir wine—generous, structured, and elegant.
