Vieux Télégraphe
Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, is one of the southern Rhône’s most iconic estates. Founded in 1898 by the Brunier family, it is now run by brothers Daniel and Frédéric Brunier, who uphold a tradition of excellence while embracing modernization. The vineyard spans about 60 hectares, especially on the famed La Crau plateau, known for its stony soils and ideal growing conditions.
The domaine follows biodynamic and environmentally respectful viticulture to protect soil diversity and vine health. Grapes are hand-harvested, and winemaking follows classic southern French traditions, with long oak aging to develop complexity and full aromatic expression.
Vieux Télégraphe wines are known for their richness, depth, and complexity. The reds, primarily Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre feature aromas of dark fruit, spices, and garrigue. They are powerful yet elegant, with silky tannins and long finishes. The domaine also produces fresh, aromatic whites with notes of stone fruit and flowers, balanced by lively acidity. A must-visit estate for lovers of great Rhône wines with strong aging potential.
