Prosper Maufoux
Domaine Prosper Maufoux, founded in 1860, has been based since 2010 at the Château de Saint-Aubin, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. It belongs to the Piffaut family, who are also active in other historic Burgundy estates. The domaine cultivates around 9 hectares, mainly planted with Chardonnay, across prestigious appellations such as Saint-Aubin Premier Cru, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, and even a Grand Cru in Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet. Viticulture is environmentally conscious, with no herbicides and HVE certification. Harvesting is done by hand, and vinification is meticulous, with precise oak barrel aging. The wine style is pure and elegant, staying true to the terroirs, with lively, mineral-driven whites often praised for their finesse. The domaine also offers a high-end wine tourism experience, combining tastings, fine dining, and accommodation in the historic château setting.
