Frédéric Lornet
The Frédéric Lornet estate is based in Montigny-lès-Arsures, at the heart of the Jura vineyard, on a historic terroir that dates back to an old Cistercian abbey. Frédéric Lornet cultivates about fifteen hectares under the Arbois appellation, with a range of emblematic Jura grape varieties: Savagnin, Chardonnay, Poulsard, Trousseau, and Pinot Noir.
Vineyard work is rooted in a philosophy of respect for the terroir and measured intervention. Harvesting is manual, yields are controlled, and vinification follows traditional methods, with great care in aging, sometimes lengthy, in old barrels.
The domaine is especially renowned for its vin jaune and Trousseau cuvées of rare complexity. Frédéric Lornet’s vin jaune is prized for its finesse and power, blending aromas of walnut, spice, and curry with a long, persistent palate. The red wines, often from old vines, express the Jura’s uniqueness with solid structure and subtle aromas of red fruits and gentle spices. Frédéric Lornet embodies a living tradition, balancing rigor and passion.
