Drouhin-Laroze
The Domaine Drouhin-Laroze in Gevrey-Chambertin is a house deeply rooted in its terroir since 1850, born from the union of the Laroze and Drouhin families in 1919. Today it is run by Philippe and Christine, with their children Caroline and Nicolas. The estate covers 11.5 hectares exclusively planted with Pinot Noir, with nearly half in Grands Crus (Musigny, Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze, Bonnes-Mares, Clos de Vougeot, Latricières, Chapelle-Chambertin), 14% in Premiers Crus, and 40% in village appellations.
The viticulture is traditional and meticulously cared for: manual harvest, leaf thinning, green harvest, and rigorous sorting. Vinification is gentle, with 18 months of barrel aging new oak reserved for Grands Crus, half new for Premiers Crus, and one-wine barrels for village wines.
The wines combine elegance, finesse, structure, and intensity, with complex profiles and exceptional aging potential. The Grands Crus express the depth of Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir, while the village wines offer pure and refined fruit. The domaine is a true reference, combining heritage respect, oenological precision, and raw terroir expression.
