Domaine Jean Fournier, a historic family estate in the Côte de Nuits, crafts a highly precise Gevrey-Chambertin 2023. Sourced from plots ideally located between Brochon and Gevrey-Chambertin on clay-limestone soils, this bottle offers a pure, balanced, and structured expression of Pinot Noir, built for aging.

WINE TASTING NOTES

  • Appearance: A light ruby red robe adorned with purple highlights.
  • Nose: Delicate and expressive, it opens onto aromas of black cherry and fresh blackcurrant, enhanced by subtle floral notes.
  • On the palate: The attack is supple, revealing a structure perfectly balanced by fine tannins. The finish lingers with a beautiful, tangy freshness.

SERVICE & TEMPERATURE

  • Serving temperature: Best served between 15 and 17°C (59–63°F).
  • Recommendation: Decanting for one hour is recommended to fully release its complete aromatic potential.

FOOD & WINE PAIRINGS

  • Recommended pairings: This great Burgundy red pairs perfectly with a dry-aged prime rib, a herb-crusted rack of lamb, or characterful cheeses such as an aged Époisses or a Brillat-Savarin.
  • Occasions: Ideal for a prestigious business dinner, a family anniversary, or a fine tasting session among Burgundy wine enthusiasts.

WHY CHOOSE THIS WINE?

  • Grape variety & Vinification: 100% Pinot Noir. Traditional vinification with controlled maceration and aging in carefully selected oak barrels to preserve the brightness of the fruit.
  • Aging potential: Enjoyable now, it will gain significant complexity over the next 10 to 15 years, with an expected peak between 2030 and 2038
