This Pouilly-Fuissé cuvée from Domaine Leflaive originates from Chardonnay grapes scattered across 14 plots planted between 1960 and 2011 around the Roche de Solutré, a limestone escarpment overlooking the Mâconnais region. The vines are established on clay-limestone soils, with exposures varying between southeast and southwest. Cultivated using biodynamic methods, the grapes are harvested by hand, with plot-by-plot monitoring determining the optimal harvest date. In the cellar, after a long and gentle pneumatic pressing, and a 24-hour settling period, the must is transferred into French oak barrels from the Vosges or Allier forests (including 20% new oak). The wine undergoes 12 months of barrel aging, followed by an additional six months of maturation in vats, before receiving a light fining and a gentle filtration during bottling.
