Domaine Stéphane Magnien is a family-run estate located in Morey-Saint-Denis, established in 1897. In 2008, Stéphane, the fourth generation, took over the reins after working for several years alongside his father. The domaine spans approximately 4.5 hectares across prestigious appellations: Coteaux Bourguignons, Bourgogne Aligoté, Morey-Saint-Denis (village and Premier Crus such as Les Faconnières, Aux Petites Noix, Les Monts-Luisants), Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru (Les Sentiers), as well as the Grand Crus Clos-Saint-Denis and Charmes-Chambertin.

The viticulture is carried out without chemical herbicides, using traditional mechanical methods (ploughing) and manual harvesting. In the cellar, vinification is classic and minimally interventionist: full destemming, no pump-overs, ageing in oak barrels (15% new oak for village wines and 35% for Clos-Saint-Denis), no fining or filtration, and bottling after natural settling.

The wines, with an annual production of 18,000 to 23,000 bottles, are renowned for their purity, freshness, fruity expression, and fine tannins. They faithfully reflect the terroir of Morey-Saint-Denis, offering elegant, digestible profiles with a style that leans more classic than creamy or heavy. The Grand Crus, such as Clos-Saint-Denis, stand out for their precision and remarkable ageing potential.
