The François Bertheau estate, located in Chambolle-Musigny, is a family-run domaine cultivating the finesse and purity of Pinot Noir. Succeeding his father in 2004, François Bertheau continues the work across 6 hectares of vineyards, all within the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, including several emblematic premiers crus such as Les Charmes, Les Amoureuses, and Les Baudes.
The estate follows respectful viticulture, avoiding chemical herbicides and tending each row of vines with meticulous care. Vinification is minimally interventionist, using very little new oak and highlighting the grape’s natural delicacy.
The wines are known for their silky texture, freshness, and graceful aging ability. These are clear expressions of the Chambolle terroir, noted for their floral perfume, ethereal elegance, and understated yet persistent substance. François Bertheau does not seek extraction or power, but rather balance and precision. The result is subtle wines of great integrity, standing among the finest ambassadors of the Côte de Nuits.
