Domaine Gaugey

The Gaugey estate, based in Demigny in the Côte Chalonnaise, covers about 12 hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay spread across village and premier cru plots in Mercurey and Givry.

The viticulture is sustainable, with mechanical soil work, manual harvesting, and yield control. The winemaking is classic, with native yeast fermentations, moderate punch-downs, and well-judged barrel aging.

The reds stand out for their ripe fruit, soft tannins, balanced structure, and great concentration. The whites show liveliness, floral aromas, and brioche notes as they age.

The estate offers a reliable and accessible range, highlighting the qualitative diversity of the Côte Chalonnaise. The premier cru cuvées reveal greater depth, a more vertical structure, and increased aging potential. Domaine Gaugey embodies the success of Burgundy’s secondary terroirs, delivering clean, honest, and enjoyable wines.
