Domaine Jacques Prieur
Domaine Jacques Prieur, located in Meursault, is one of the most renowned estates in the Côte de Beaune. Founded in 1868, this family-run estate is now in its fourth generation, blending modern vision with a respect for Burgundian traditions. The estate spans about 28 hectares of vineyards, mainly planted with Chardonnay for white wines and Pinot Noir for red wines, on prestigious appellations such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chablis, Volnay, and Pommard.
Domaine Jacques Prieur practices sustainable viticulture with deep respect for the terroir and is certified organic by Ecocert. Harvesting is manual, ensuring careful grape selection. In the cellar, vinification follows traditional methods, with oak barrel aging for white wines to impart complexity and richness, and tank or barrel aging for reds to preserve aromatic purity and enhance elegance.
Wines from Domaine Jacques Prieur are known for their great finesse and remarkable complexity. The whites, primarily from Chardonnay, are prized for their freshness, minerality, and balance. They display aromas of stone fruits, white flowers, and buttery notes, with beautiful acidity and long finishes. The reds, from Pinot Noir, are elegant, with red fruit and forest floor aromas, fine tannins, and a beautiful structure. These wines have excellent aging potential and evolve remarkably over the years.
