Château d'Auvernier

Château d'Auvernier is a historic landmark and an iconic wine estate in the canton of Neuchâtel. Built in 1559, it is listed as a cultural property of national significance and stands within a centuries-old winemaking tradition.

The estate, still in the hands of the Chambrier family descendants since 1603 and later the Grosjean family since 1988, features vast vaulted cellars and important vineyards on slopes overlooking the lake. The flagship grape is Chasselas, but Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay are also cultivated. Viticulture is conducted traditionally and respectfully, with grape varieties carefully matched to the calcareous-lacustrine terroir.

The estate produces elegant white wines with zesty minerality, fresh and fruity reds, and historic sparkling wines. Wine tourism is a highlight: guided tours, tastings in an exceptional setting, and cultural events are offered. Château d’Auvernier harmoniously blends historical heritage, viticultural know-how, and contemporary elegance.
