Hautes-Côtes de Beaune
To the west of the Côte de Beaune, the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune rise between 300 and 400 meters in altitude, across gently rolling and sunlit plateaus. Long overlooked, these vineyard lands have undergone a remarkable qualitative revival since the 1950s.
The same classic Burgundian grape varieties are grown here: Pinot Noir for reds, Chardonnay for whites. However, the altitude and varied exposures give the wines a livelier, more straightforward profile—while retaining the elegance typical of Burgundy.
The red wines are supple and fruity, marked by refreshing acidity. The white wines are taut and well-balanced, offering floral, citrus, or subtly spicy aromas.
Produced in about twenty communes on the sunniest slopes, the wines of the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune appellation charm with their accessibility, authenticity, and outstanding value for money.
