Terrasses du Larzac
The Terrasses du Larzac appellation is located in Languedoc, northwest of Montpellier, at the foot of the Larzac plateau. It achieved AOC status in 2014, highlighting the quality of its terroirs and the uniqueness of its red wines.
The appellation covers around 2,000 hectares, benefiting from a Mediterranean climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, promoting freshness in the wines. The soils are varied, composed of rolled pebbles, limestone, and scree, allowing for a good diversity of expressions.
The wines of Terrasses du Larzac are made from traditional grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Cinsault. They offer aromas of dark fruits, spices, and Mediterranean herbs with a structured, fresh, and balanced palate. These wines have excellent aging potential while remaining accessible in their youth. They pair perfectly with grilled meats, spicy dishes, and Mediterranean cuisine.
The Terrasses du Larzac appellation reflects the modernity and qualitative renewal of Languedoc, with wines that combine power and elegance.
