Henri Boillot
Domaine Henry Boillot, located in Meursault in the Côte de Beaune, is one of the most respected estates in the region. Founded in 1885, it is now run by Henri Boillot, a passionate winemaker who carries on the family tradition while embracing a modern approach to viticulture. The estate covers about 12 hectares of vineyards, primarily planted with Chardonnay for white wines and Pinot Noir for red wines, on prestigious appellations such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Volnay, and Pommard.
The estate practices sustainable viticulture, focusing on grape quality and respect for the terroir. Harvesting is done by hand, and vinification is carried out with great care, using traditional methods that allow the wines to fully express themselves. The white wines are aged in oak barrels, which adds richness and complexity, while the reds are also barrel-aged, resulting in elegant and well-structured wines.
Wines from Domaine Henry Boillot are renowned for their finesse, balance, and excellent aging potential. The whites, mainly from Chardonnay, are highly complex, with aromas of stone fruits, white flowers, and mineral notes characteristic of the finest Côte de Beaune terroirs. They are fresh, well-structured, and offer great length on the palate. The reds, from Pinot Noir, exhibit aromas of red and black fruits, with hints of spice and floral notes. They are elegant, with a silky texture and well-integrated tannins, offering great aging potential.
