Pommard is probably the most famous wine in all of Burgundy, but also the favorite wine of many historical figures, notably Henry IV, Louis XV, Victor Hugo, and Pierre de Ronsard. Geographically close to the first climats of Volnay, this cuvée reveals itself as a rather light Pommard, combining power and finesse.

WINE TASTING NOTES

  • Profile and character: A deep, lively, and clear ruby robe, immediately suggesting a structured and elegant red Burgundy. The nose opens onto generous aromas of small ripe red fruits and black fruits, supported by subtle spicy notes and a discreet oakiness. The overall impression is expressive, refined, and already very seductive.
  • On the palate: The attack is supple yet structured, with a generous texture and well-defined tannins. The wine offers depth, balance, and persistence, leading to a long and elegant finish.

FOOD & WINE PAIRINGS

  • Recommended pairings: This cuvée pairs beautifully with roasted meats, duck, veal, beef dishes, and flavorful seasonal cuisine. It also goes very well with dishes enhanced by full-bodied jus, mushrooms, or refined savory preparations.

WHY CHOOSE THIS WINE?

  • Grape variety & Vintage: 100% Pinot Noir, 2022 vintage.
  • Aging: 16 months in 228-liter oak barrels (including 25% new oak)
