Domaine Désiré Petit, located in the Jura, is a family-run estate covering around ten hectares. Founded in the early 20th century, it is now led by the Petit family, who are devoted to crafting authentic wines that reflect the unique character of the Jura terroir. The vineyard focuses on Savagnin, the region’s emblematic varietal, as well as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Trousseau.
The estate embraces environmentally conscious practices, combining organic and biodynamic viticulture. Harvesting is done by hand, and traditional winemaking methods are employed, with ageing in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. This approach yields refined, well-structured, and beautifully balanced wines.
Domaine Désiré Petit is known for producing truly distinctive wines. The whites, especially the renowned Vin Jaune, are powerful and complex, with aromas of walnut, dried fruits, and exotic spices. The reds, crafted from Trousseau and Pinot Noir, are elegant and fresh, with red berry aromas and a well-defined tannic structure. The estate also produces Vin de Paille and Crémants, appreciated for their richness and complexity.
