Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru

Griotte-Chambertin is the smallest of the nine Grand Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin, with only 2.7 hectares, making it a rare and confidential appellation. It was classified as a Grand Cru in 1937.

The site enjoys good sun exposure, with shallow, stony soils that encourage rapid ripening of the Pinot Noir.

Griotte-Chambertin wines are renowned for their refinement, silky texture, and very pure aromatic expression. They reveal notes of sour cherry (as the name suggests), rose, sweet spices, and sometimes chocolate or truffle as they age.

These wines are less full-bodied than their neighbors Chambertin or Clos de Bèze, but their crystalline elegance and finesse on the palate make them among the most seductive in the Côte de Nuits.

Their rarity and delicacy make them highly sought-after and often reserved for discerning wine lovers.
