Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Chambertin-Clos de Bèze is one of the most prestigious Grand Crus in Burgundy.
It is the only one legally allowed to use the name “Chambertin” without being located in the original Chambertin parcel.
The appellation covers approximately 15 hectares and lies directly north of Chambertin.
Clos de Bèze was mentioned as early as the 7th century, making it one of the oldest named vineyard sites in Burgundy. The soils are deep, rich in clay, and well-drained, resulting in powerful, complex wines built for aging. Pinot Noir here expresses intense aromas of dark fruits, licorice, leather, and wildflowers. On the palate, Clos de Bèze wines combine the structure and density of Chambertin with a more floral and velvety touch.
These are wines for long cellaring, often reaching their peak after 15 to 30 years. Their depth and complexity place them among the finest in the Burgundy vineyard.
