This historic 11-hectare plot is renowned as one of the finest Marsannay wines ever produced. It is composed of the estate's oldest vines, ranging in age from 25 to 70 years.

Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: A dark ruby red robe with vermilion highlights.
  • Nose: Delicate, offering scents of wild rose (églantine), aromas of black cherry, and blackcurrant nuanced by notes of licorice.
  • Palate: The attack is soft with an ample and silky texture. The tannins are still a bit tight but very gourmet.
  • Finish: The flavors balance out with a touch of eucalyptus and very ripe red fruits.

  • Serving Temperature: 16-17°C (61-63°F).
  • Aging: It possesses real aging potential. It can be enjoyed for its youthful crispness or after a few years in the cellar to reach its tertiary maturity.

Established in 1979 in Marsannay-la-Côte, in the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Bruno Clair is a family-run estate covering 27 hectares across 8 villages, producing 32 different appellations. Bruno Clair, a descendant of a long line of winemakers, built the estate by bringing together family-owned parcels and acquiring new vineyards.

The domaine is renowned for its red wines made from Pinot Noir, particularly from Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, and Chambolle-Musigny, as well as for its white wines from Marsannay and Morey-Saint-Denis. The estate's philosophy is rooted in sustainable viticulture, with a strong respect for the soil and the vine, aiming to produce elegant wines that faithfully reflect their terroirs.
