Pernand-Vergelesses
Situated at the junction of the Côte de Beaune and the Corton hill, Pernand-Vergelesses is a discreet village with immense potential. It produces both red and white wines that are quintessentially Burgundian — authentic, expressive, and well-balanced.
The reds, made from Pinot Noir, are elegant and refined, with notes of red fruits such as cherry and redcurrant, hints of peony, and occasional touches of forest floor. Their structure is delicate yet present, allowing them to age gracefully while remaining approachable when young.
The whites, crafted from Chardonnay, are taut, mineral, and pure. Often slightly austere in their youth, they reveal a crystalline freshness and are ideal companions for seafood, fish dishes, or grilled poultry.
Some parcels within the appellation border the prestigious Grands Crus of Corton and Corton-Charlemagne — a testament to the outstanding quality of the local terroir.
