Ladoix
Located at the meeting point between the Côte de Beaune and the slopes of Corton hill, Ladoix is a still-under-the-radar appellation full of promise. It produces both red and white wines, with styles that reflect its transitional position between the valley floor and hillside vineyards.
The reds, made from Pinot Noir, are supple yet well-structured, offering aromas of black cherry, raspberry, forest floor, and occasionally a hint of spice. With a few years of aging, they gain in finesse and complexity.
The whites, crafted from Chardonnay, are fresh and mineral, with notes of white flowers, lemon, and wet stone. They often share the taut, linear character of neighboring Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton whites.
Several Ladoix climats are included in the prestigious Grand Cru classifications of Corton and Corton-Charlemagne — a testament to the exceptional quality of its terroir.
