Chassagne-Montrachet
Chassagne-Montrachet, in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, is one of the rare Burgundy villages to excel equally in both white and red wines.
Chardonnay produces rich and elegant whites here, with golden hues and green highlights, offering aromas of white flowers, hazelnut, flint, and fresh butter, evolving toward honey with age. On the palate, they are full-bodied and round, always balanced by a fine freshness.
The reds, made from Pinot Noir, display a brilliant color and aromas of red berries, cherry, and spices. Their structure is dense and fleshy, with tannins that soften beautifully over time.
The whites pair perfectly with poultry in sauce, spiced fish dishes, or shellfish.
The reds complement grilled meats, spicy dishes, and game.
Grown on varied marl and limestone soils at altitudes of 220–325 meters, the appellation, recognized since 1937, expresses all the richness and complexity of its terroir.
