Nuits-Saint-Georges
Nuits-Saint-Georges produces powerful and refined red wines with a deep purple color. When young, they reveal aromas of cherry, blackcurrant, rose, and licorice; with age, they develop notes of leather, truffle, game, and prune. On the palate, these wines are structured, full-bodied, long, and richly textured, gaining roundness as they mature. The rare whites are rich and voluptuous, unveiling brioche, honey, and floral notes.
The reds pair excellently with roasted meats, game, duck, and even fish in red wine sauce. The whites complement grilled fish or shellfish.
Serving temperature: reds 15–16 °C, whites 12–13 °C.
Located between Vosne-Romanée and the Combe de la Serrée, this appellation, an AOC since 1936, rests on varied marl-limestone soils and lends its name to the entire Côte de Nuits region.
