Clos de la Roche is a powerful and profound Grand Cru from Morey-Saint-Denis, stylistically close to Chambertin. Its dark ruby robe is followed by a nose of truffle, humus, and small red and black fruits. Quite firm in its youth, it develops with age a complex aromatic profile and a dense structure, never losing its elegance.
Perfect with game birds, rib steak, glazed poultry, braised veal, or strong washed-rind cheeses.
Serving temperatures: 12–13 °C when young, 15–16 °C at maturity.
Derived from shallow limestone soils exposed to the east, Clos de la Roche embodies the full nobility of Côte de Nuits Grand Crus, recognized since 1936.
