Auxey-Duresses: Finesse and Authenticity in the Côte de Beaune

Nestled at the entrance to the Hautes Côtes, Auxey-Duresses (pronounced "Aussey") is a historic Burgundy appellation, officially recognized since 1937. Once a stronghold of Gallo-Roman viticulture, it spans varied terroirs of marl-limestone soils, between well-exposed hillsides and cooler valleys.

The red wine, with its bright ruby hue, reveals aromas of blackberries and peony. Delicate, supple, and fleshy, it evolves with age to develop notes of leather and spice. Perfect with white meats, charcuterie, rabbit, risottos, and even grilled fish.

Serving temperature: 15 to 16 °C.

The white wine is lively and charming, with a pale robe and a bouquet of almond, apple, flint, and biscuit. It offers roundness and persistence on the palate. A fine match for seafood, fish in sauce, ratatouille, and aged cheeses.

Serving temperature: 12 to 14 °C.
