The Marsannay appellation, unique in Burgundy for producing red, white, and rosé wines at the Village level, fully reflects the style of the Côte de Nuits.
The reds display a deep color and reveal aromas of morello cherry, blackcurrant, or blueberry. On the palate, they are powerful yet harmonious, with a lovely round finish.
The whites, both floral and citrusy, offer a full, mineral, and persistent mouthfeel.
The reds pair well with red meats, game, or even freshwater fish, and go nicely with strong cheeses. The whites shine alongside poultry, veal, exotic dishes, or goat cheeses.
Located in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits, the vineyard stretches from Chenôve to Couchey, across varied terroirs of scree, limestone, and marl, between 255 and 390 meters in altitude. Marsannay was granted Village AOC status in 1987, though it had already enjoyed great prestige long before.
